A day to stand proud and salute our 43 presidents.
Until 1971, Washington's birthday and Lincoln's birthday were observed
separately. It was President Nixon who proclaimed the third Monday
of each February to be observed as a single Federal holiday, called
Presidents' Day.
Atlas
"Pencils that Say Things" honor all presidents. From 1789,
when George Washington was elected to office as first president,
to 2001, when George W. Bush assumed office, all 43 presidents,
plus each of the terms in office, can be found on Atlas Pencil #641.
